I saw this earlier this week (was actually trying to find DIARY OF THE DEAD, but it's not playing anywhere near me). I generally thought it was very well made and effective. Didn't know going in if the shaky POV would bother me, but except for a couple of scenes I adjusted to it quite quickly. I even jumped once which was cool as I didn't think this movie would surprise me that much. I agree with several of the comments above, too much of the monster is shown near the end (the CGI gets pretty noticeable here) and I think this film may not hold up very well over repeated viewings. One thing that I was expecting and didn't really catch was the tie-in to the pre-release marketing campaign. I thought there was going to be some elaborate explanation for the monster's origin or why it started attacking the city in the first place. Was I sleeping through part of this or was it dealt it in some way?
