I enjoyed it simply for the originality. It was nice to see a different take on the zombie genre. For me the story started out strong. I believe this is based on a series of comics? As the story started to stray around the middle so did my interest, although I thought I was told (probably here) that it roughly followed the comic plot. Also, those sublime endings leave me cold sometimes. I do agree that the sets and the photography were excellent. The cemetery was awesome IMO.
I have to be in a particular mood to watch Euro films, otherwise there's a good chance I just will not enjoy them. I'm the same way with goofball comedies like AIRPLANE or MONTY PYTHON. One thing that I truly dig is the Italian overdub, something about the sound gives them a totally separate dimension, it's like watching a movie when your high.
