Over at the GOREzone they are saying the a 20th Anniversary Edition DVD of the cult kid favourite Monster Squad will be hitting DVD stores sometime this year.
Release dates and Special Features are unknown at this time, but this news makes the hair on my arm stand up.

Apparently it will indeed be a loaded special edition type DVD and its gonna be released by Lionsgate, so all is well. And they said it couldn't be done.

That's awesome news to hear. Monster Squad was absolutely one of my favorite childhood movies and I've been waiting for a proper DVD release for a long time.

I really hope this news is true. I've been waiting for this for so long I had to resort to this full screen burned DVD I found on eBay. It has satisfied my craving, until now.

Man, I could never forget this one, it was Goonies for horror fans. you know I always felt the makeup effects in this movie were some of the best I'd ever seen, especially on the Mummy and Wolfman.

In all honesty, everytime I think of the character of Dracula, I don't think of Bela Lugosi like other people do. I think of Duncan Regehr from this movie. He doesn't speak much, but he carries this "don't fuck with me" vibe about him, which in turn makes me not want to fuck with him.

I was drunk when I initially heard about this news. I started hooting and hollaring in the middle of a Safeway. People looked at me like I was an idiot, but if they only knew the excitement I was feeling, they would understand.
Then I woke up the next morning, and thought it was a cruel, beautiful dream. Then I got online, and realized it wasn't.
