Gotcha korosh1ya. And yeah, with a few exceptions, Asian horror can be boring crap a lot of the time. The better asian movies are the weird genre benders like Miike's best.

I have never been able to get all the way through NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD because of it's slow plodding suckitude. Don't get me wrong, I love DAWN OF THE DEAD, and truly fucking cherish DAY OF THE DEAD. But NIGHT OF THE LIVING dead is a piece of shit IMO.
You have crossed the line, sir. TAKE IT BACK!

Though I enjoy a decent chunk of Fulci's work, I appreciate them more in parts as opposed to a whole. I think the only movie he ever made that I 100% loved was THE PSYCHIC. However, he has made many MANY clunkers. I've actually been bored to sleep by several of his films. As a matter of fact, whenever I have problems sleeping I reach for a copy of THE BLACK CAT or MANHATTAN BABY and I'm out within 15 min. I bought them for that purpose alone, they're better than any sleeping pill known to man.

The reason I dislike TCM is because it is just boring, slow paced, and very uninteresting to me. Also, I think because it was so hyped up to me for so long, that when I finally did see it, the movie just did nothing for me.
Suspiria storyline was just horrible. It's about witches?! Really?!? Couldn't come up with something better?!? The whole movie just was extremely boring.. and the last bit of the movie was even more boring than the beginning. Ugh just blah to me.
I like, nay LOVE, the original TCM and all it's stripped down and twisted goodness. :P

I tend to agree about whats been said here about Fulci. While I dig him and his movies a lot, and he is nowhere near sucking or being a hack, he does receive a lot of extreme praise where he is revered as some sort of visionary genius or something, and that is certainly a stretch - a looong stretch.

Night of the Living Dead has always been one of my favourite movies. I remember the first time I watched it and how it terrified me. Thinking back, it was probably in the middle of the afternoon when I first saw it. At the time I was scared and loving it. The second time I saw it was in the middle of the night. That experience was far more terrifying!
With you liking Dawn and Day but not Night, it's kind of like an orgy but you refuse to let the second best woman in so then it just becomes a measly threesome.

I can relate with what Tony is saying here. The first time you see a particular movie when your at a young age is an iconic moment. And that seed is planted there and then and holds that special place, time and moment for you. Example to me is Evil Dead. Which as a kid scared the crap out of me. I look back now and see the film is basically a slapstick gore movie that Raimi intended to induce laughs ( albeit nervous ones ) as well as the shocks. I for one didn't see no joke initially as a child and the film thrilled the hell out of me. I love the film now.

In keeping with the thread. Steven Spielberg is a big headed arrogant douchebag. His head is stuck up his own arse which is pretty good when you consider how many people on this globe are kissing it. " Oooh Oooh Steven Spielbergs making a new movie its bound to be great he's awesome" etc. No he ain't. He got Lucky with Jaws. And thats only became iconic because of John Williams superb music. Lets praise him. People forget this is also A Peter Benchley novel. Wheres the praise for him ? No its all Spielbergs a master he's the best. Case point Poltergeist. If Hooper would have made this film alone as his it would have or could have been a good creepy horror flik. Spielberg makes it lavish a full of silly wispy ghosties that look all sweet and gooey. With that happy tune to accompany them. "Mummy Mummy I'm stuck in the telly" Gimmee a break. The tree, clown and face tear scene would have been great if done alone by a horror director but that prick had to stick his oar in and make it all audience friendly to appeal to a bigger market so his name can get more lights.
On a hypocritcal note I like Jurrasic Park films. Only cus I adore Dinosaurs. Fuck the plot.

Oh and William Friedkins an arsehole as well. Lets throw him, Cameron and Spielberg down a big well ala Bart Simpson to teach em a lesson in manners.
