No, it isn't full on horror, but it's horror related.

So, who watches? What do you think of the newest season?

I love Dexter. I was hooked on the show from day one. I've yet to watch the current season though.

I watched Dexter a few times back in the first season and quickly lost interest. I just failed to get sucked in.

I saw the first season as well, when I was traveling alot with a different job. Lots of hotel rooms with Showtime made it really easy since they reran episodes practically every night. I really liked it, but haven't bothered to try and catch up yet. One prob was the 2nd season female lead change sort of came out of nowhere and also not having SHO at home didn't make catching it ultra convenient.

Dexter is a really good show. I recommend that you guys continue watching it. Season 4 is one of the best and John Lithgow shines in it.

Lithgow is one of the most underrated actors I can think of at the moment....and he was awesome in Dexter. Also, that particular season had a ridiculous finale. It may have been one of the most "ballsy" moves in tv history.

I have read the Dexter novels and I've watched every episode of the show. The show is superior to the novels btw. The novels touch upon the supernatural a time or 12, but the show never does. Maybe that's why I like the show better....

I honestly don't remember a female lead change. Keep in mind I'm not saying it didn't happen. I just don't remember it. The show is that good, man. They obviously changed female leads and I forgot about it. lol

You have to stick with it, knifey. In the beginning I was turned off by several aspects of the show, most noteable was Dexter's almost constant "inner monolouge", but after a while you get why they do the things they do. Dexter talks to "himself" a lot for a very good reason...

hahaha... i was thinking exactly the same thing. I could not remember a female lead change. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to sound stupid that I didn't notice that they changed a main character.

The female lead in season one had a real mousy personality and had trust issues. Which worked out nicely for Dex since he didn't need anyone getting *too close* to him. I think she also had a kid from a previous relationship. However by the end of the season she was all over him. Then, at least I thought, when season two started they had replaced that love interest with a completely different actress playing a different character. But maybe I've gotten my shows mixed up or somethin' ???

According to wikipedia, Julia Benz played Rita (Dexter's gf/wife) from day 1. I know wikipedia can often be wrong, so I ain't saying this info is 100% correct.

Nope, Rita was always played by the same actress.
