Has anyone heard any details about Blue Underground's planned DVD release for this movie? It's going to be quite a while yet before it comes out but I was just wondering if anyone has heard anything. Blue Underground always puts out great DVDs so this should be an exciting release for Fulci fans!

Ah, one of my faves. This one is always unfairly torn apart, but really it is a fun, well made film. Shit, how could anyone not love a movie with killer werewolves, zombies, a naked woman with a metal face, Communist spiders, wonderous atmosphere, and killer gore fx. It's better then the original Conan, and dare I say it... it realy is the stepson to Bava's Hercule's In THe Haunted World.

Great movie. If you like Italian fantasy flicks this one is among the best. I own the German tape which sadly is cut in one scene (a guy is torn to pieces, I think). So I really look forward to the upcoming DVD... this is a must-buy for me.

Oh you mean that scene where that cave girl is torn down the middle that was later reprieved in Demonia? It's nasty sure (and imho I prefer the way it was done here then in Demonia) but you're not missing that much, we don't actually see her get torn in half, just a few reaction shots and 3 seconds worth of gore.

No idea on the DVD...Been looking forward to this myself as i have only seen it censored.
I agree it's a very watchable slice of entertainment with a few dashes of Fulci grue.
Lovely stuff (though not in the league of "Conan the Barbarian" IMHO).
The 'boils' sequence is a delightfully messy thing!

I always liked that Zombie attack sequence, but I'm not so sure about havving a cleaned up dvd release. Why? Well the Japanese widescreen dub that I have makes the zombie attack scene very difficult to see clearly, but if you look carefully you can see the zombie costume(s) is basically a trenchcoat with the makeup painted over it. The dvd might make this even more clear  .
Now then, any word on extras?

Don't think there has been any official word on what to expect regarding this DVD yet.
It's a wonderful film, filled with that vaseline on the camera dreamy atmosphere. It is one of the better Disco Barbarian films, but I do have a soft spot for all of them, especially those featuring Sabrina Siani topless and old Mule Grin with his tightly permed hair.

Sabrina Siani was topless in all of her movies.
Conquest is definitely a far better film than its reputation, one of the better Conan-knockoffs and one of the few decent post-prime Fulci movies, IMO. Worth watching just because of the soundtrack alone.
All the Italian Disco Barbarian films are immortal classics, with the possible exception of the Ator films. Ator II has its moments, though.

I read the rumor also about Blue Underground getting hold of this as well. It would be awesome if it turns out to be true! Im sure they would give the film justice. My fingers are crossed!

Got the Blue Underground release yesterday and immediately watched it! Great movie! It certainly never looked better than here. It's pretty gory too, with lots of head-bashing, gory wounds, and the unfortunate girl ripped apart in the middle. Lots of aggressive Chewbaccas and sea-zombies and a constantly naked Sabrina Siani (with a mask on her head and a snake in her hands) against our two heroes (Andrea Occhipinti looks like a mix of Orlando Bloom and Charlie Sheen! ). A fine movie, though one thing left me puzzled? Was there actually a story???
