Samurai Princess struck me as sort of a poor man's Tokyo Gore Police. It clearly has much smaller budget, but does that doom it for failure?
In my opinion, no. This is one of those films that if you go into it with the right frame of mind you will not be disappointed.
If you like over the top gore, that is.

And I sure do.

Even with its low budget barrier Samurai Princess manages to pull of some fairly effective gore, blood, and guts. While the story is definitely mediocre it isn't horrible. The gore is definitely what this one all about, gore with a twist of twistedness. (again, same vein as TGP.) I'm talking breast hand grenades, saw blade chest cavity weapons, scissor legs, a protruding penis weapon and (for some true cheese) a dude that kicks some ass by playing guitar riffs in the direction of his foes..
Easy recommend for the Asian gore hound.

USELESS TRIVIA: I read online that the lead actress who plays the Samurai Princess is also an Japanese adult film star. Her name is Aino Kishi and she is hot.
