Wondering if anyone here is passionate about what web browser you use or don't use... I ditched Internet Explorer and Safari for the most part and went to Firefox. I use both Mac OS and Windows, so Firefox was a great way to keep the same look and feel on each. However I have really started becoming a Google geek and am using a bunch of Google apps including their Chrome browser. I am liking it even though its Beta on the Mac side. It works great. But really, over all, I don't really see any one browser being vastly superior to any other...

I used to use Firefox but since Chrome came out it has been my browser of choice.
I actually have to use all browsers (with a decent market share) because I'm an Automation Engineer specializing in web automation.

Firefox 3.6 is pretty epic, I am an Opera man myself though, I'm not in a huge camp, but it's a fantastic browser

my brother put opera on their desktop and I found that to be quite nice as well. Personally, I use internet explorer and have never had a reason to change.

I was always an IE man until the last several months. Was on Firefox, went to Chrome, now back on Firefox. Chrome's bookmarks suck. My IE has generally runs slower than the other two (???) or I would probably still be using it. I sorta like Firefox's Persona add-on as well, alot of the backgrounds are chintzy, but at least its a semblance of personality for those who want it.

Same here. I'm a big "aint broke dont fix it" guy. But being this way I probably miss out on better options. Can you guys talk me into another browser? I'm all ears, I just need that first push.

I'd still be using Mosaic if they kept up with it! Firefox for me, with a custom black and red skin.

Having never used anything but IE, I am ignorant I admit. What is the process to change browsers? Is it simply a matter of installing the new browser or do you have to "get rid of" Internet Explorer first? Pardon my dumbassed ways here..
Any advice on the basics of changing browsers would be great.

You simply install the new browser and launch that one instead of IE when browsing the internet.
As a programmer, I can see that though IE has the greatest market share, it is definitely the inferior browser. That market share is shrinking though!

Anybody have an opinion on which one is the most secure?

You probably will want to use Firefox for the extensions alone. There are a ton of great extensions out there that can do anything.
I've been using Chrome because it it super fast.
Of course, it all comes down to personal preference. No browser will be 100% the best browser out there.

I've been playing with Firefox and Chrome since the weekend. I'm already hooked. IE is easily inferior it seems to me. All the useful extensions and more importantly, both are MUCH faster.
Again, I rarely mess with things unless there's a problem. Thus, I have used IE since the beginning. But since trying these 2 browsers I've been having a "where have you been all my life" moment.
