Ohhhh damn righ I went there!!!
This old Sega game was great when I played this at the old Arcade next to my house when I was a kid. I never finished that damn game!!!! If Im not mistaken its only 4 levels....But I never got to the damn 4th boss...
And now a 27 years old.... I got the game on my Wii and playing it on my 0 inch TV.....which is pretty great.....and...I STILL CANT BEAT IT!!!!
What a hard fucking game!! Who makes a game that is unbeatable like that....Whats the point of playing if you cant win.... 
Seriously tho....I got to the final boss yesterday for he FIRST TIME EVER!!! and he just wooped me....BAD
Please tell me Im not the only one whos ever played this game...
For those who havent played this...let me explain how the story goes...
So it starts off with Santa being pissed about christmas not being as great as it used to be. So he makes you rise up from your grave to BEAT christmas into everyone!
And Santa blames who for christmas sucking??...who else....thats right ...ZOMBIES
Ok ok its about Santas daughter being a stripper or something...anyways..So to get to the Boss at the end on the level... you need to power up...and to power up...you need to kick these things in the face.
But in blue...this is the only pic I could find.... 
Then you ALTERED BEAST....or whatever
So now you are just FLYING threw these so called zombies!!
And finally....kick this dudes ASS
But the BEST part about this game....
...You can kick up

I think the problem is that you're playing on a 0 inch tv.

ALTERED BEAST!!! Loved this game, both in the arcades of yester-year and on the Genesis. Cool game, but definitely one from the era where there is not much margin for error, which leads to frustration for sure. At least once you started to "buff up" an enemy hit would result in you "buffing down" rather than instantly dying.
I used to hate those games where you get ever so slightly touched by the enemy and you die immediately. Very frustrating.
Anyhoo…Altered Beast, damn cool game. I definitely relived it in recent years on an emulator.

Totally agree. I remember when it came out that "Rise from your Grave" voicing was some Hi-tech shit! It was a bit creepy at the time too which was cool.

Love this game, am so happy Sega started putting Arcade versions on the VC, the Genesis port is not bad, but I much prefer the arcade version..
thought it was a rather easy game myself.. but I guess that's just me, the guy who beat Castlevania 2, Ninja Gaiden NES, and am one of only 10 people in the world who beat the entire Commandos (PC Strategy series) without using cheats.
