I'm surprised there are no good books on Bava that are reasonably priced. There's the book All the Colors of the Dark which looks like a big coffee table and is packed on Bava's life with color photos and interviews, but it costs in the 3 digits which is just ridiculous for the little fella, really who cares if its cover is from lavish material or even if they are glossy photos. If i somehow found this book i'd throw it away just from how insulting it would be to hold something by someone who made it cost that much for a damn book. Then there's a regular bio called The Haunted World of Mario Bava but from reading the reviews it looks pretty poorly done with only summarizing his movies and not too much on him as a filmmaker. It's really surprising for such a great director to not have a good book that is within reach of normal people, hopefully something will happen in the future.
