"ZOMBIEGEDDON" full review

ZOMBIEGEDDON (2003)
reviewed by Jose Prendes
for Strictly Splatter

Four out of Five coffins overall
Blood: five out of five black drops
Breasts: n/a
Beasts:three out of five black drops

Review-

This movie has it all. Zombies, tigers, horror genre stars, violence, tigers, gore, comedy, religion,
tigers...did I mention the tigers? That's right, this micro-budget zombie flick got itself a damn tiger.
Granted it's only one, but do you know any other zombie movies with a tiger? I didn't think so, anyway…

The film begins when Jesus has sex with radio dj Laura Reynolds and finds out that the world is about
to end! Then we meet two of the world's worst, and most hilariously messed-up cops in the world,
Detective's Mark and Cage. They go about harassing the local citizenry and wantonly abusing their
power (making Writer/Director Chris Watson kiss a dude!!!) until they run into a zombie outbreak at the
local high school. Hilarity and violence ensue as the crooked cops and the beleaguered teens fight off
the invasion. Lloyd "TROMA" Kaufman even makes an appearance as the wacky janitor (and this was
way before Troma ever picked up the film for distribution)!

In the end, the survivors hide out in a house as the world goes to hell. It turns out that Mark is
descended from a long line of zombie hunters and only he can stop the evil horde let loose by the devil
(painfully played by William "GRAVE OF THE VAMPIRE" Smith). And more zombie action and madness
ensues. This is a thinking man's zombie movie, because not only does it find time for character
development, but it actually tries to give us a complex storyline.

Most filmmakers nowadays start out like Chris Watson did. He grabbed a video camera and got a
couple of his friends together to make a zombie movie. But he went a step further and decided to cast
genre veterans in the film, giving it an added air of fandom awareness. He scoured the conventions for
such wonderful names like Robert "MANIAC COP" Z'dar, Brinke "CORPSES ARE FOREVER" Stevens,
Tom "MONSTER MAN" Savini, Felissa "CORPSES ARE FOREVER" Rose, the excellent Conrad "PLAN 9
FROM OUTER SPACE" Brooks, and the under-used but equally excellent Joe "SOULTAKER" Esteves! I
started out the same way, and look at us now! Oh...wait. Anyway, if you're in the mood for a decent
micro-budget zombie movie with some wit thrown in for good measure, then head to your local Troma
movie retailer and pick this little gore-crusted gem up.

Just saw this tonight. Good cheesy yumminess. Low budget and I likes it. The parts with the 2 cops are damn funny.

I forgot to add, the actual best part of the movie was perhaps the trailer at the beginning for Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead
See it here,
