Two-time Academy Award nominee® Ethan Hawke plays Edward Dalton, a researcher in the year 2019, in which an unknown plague has transformed the world’s population into vampires. As the human population nears extinction, vampires must capture and farm every remaining human, or find a blood substitute before time runs out. However, a covert group of vampires makes a remarkable discovery, one which has the power to save the human race.

Looks pretty good. I'm intrigued. I really enjoyed "Undead", the first movie from the Spierig bros, even if I didn't care much for the more over-the-top moments and some of the comedy in it. But it was a fun flick. I'm interested in seeing what they do with the vampire genre.

Well, it seems overly polished (ala Underworld) which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but more polished often translates to less scary. However Sam Neil and William Dafoe make for promising casting.

Yes, I agree with all those comments.

Indeed. Neil as a vampire and Dafoe as a vampire hunter are two bits of brilliant casting. The type so perfect in concept that makes you slap your forehead and wonder why you never thought about how perfect that would be before.
