Anyone else see this awesome, awesome, AWESOME slasher flick? I swear it has to be one of the most brutal, audacious and balls-out slasher movies in a long time. The kills are absolutley fantastic and the effects are all top-notch, done by (Writer/Director) Robert Hall's makeup F/X studio Almost Human, the guys responsible for the F/X on Quarantine and The Burrowers. This is definatley one of the year's ten best, easily.

I saw this the other day and I was very unimpressed.
MINOR SPOILERS
Why don't the characters just drive away??? They make such horrible decisions that I just could not get behind them. They have the ability to just drive and the continue to stop at stupid locations. They say that they don't have that much gas, but come on, even when they get a different car, they just keep going back to the same locations.
FROGURT. There should have been flaming arrows.

You raise a very good point Tony, and are absolutley correct. That said, I still can't help but love this movie, if only for the gore and the kills. I know that a horror fan can't live on kills and kills alone, but I thought the effects in this movie were wonderful! They were very well thought out, and executed with absolute brilliance IMO. Nevertheless, you still bring up a valid point. I hope you didn't buy the movie because of my post, if so, I'd be happy to reimburse you for your dissapointment.
I think I should also take the time to warn all of you about another slasher film that relys on gore: Midnight Movie. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT waste your time on this movie unless you have the patience for terrible dialogue, a horrible plot and some pretty shitty acting. Thank god I only rented it but goddamn, it was terrible, and the gore was pretty lacklustre at best. Not the worst movie ever made, but definatley not worth the $5 for a re-rent, let alone $10 to buy.
Again, my apologies about the movie.

Screw that, if I had to reimburse everyone who disagreed with my movie recommendations I'd have to file Chapter 13.

Loved the kills. Hated the cast with a passion. Although it is a slasher and these things don't really matter in this sub genre.

I liked it. The whole gas thing kind of bugged me too. But then if they had gotten away it would have made for a short movie. I've come to believe every good slasher needs at least one plot hole. lol. Ok so the script could have used some work. I really enjoyed the kills. Very well done and very bloody. Nice knives! I didn't expect the shotgun kill and it had me lmao. I liked the killers glue on mask too. I thought the cast was alright. If there was a weak spot, it was with the two idiots at the market. They were just a little bit over the top.
I think it's a worthwhile rental and I'll probably own it one day.
Should we expect a prequel?

I maintain my opinion that this movie is no good. I'm still waiting for my reimbursement in the mail.
