Shoutout for SHO

Showtime has been running Andy Warhol's (Blood for) Dracula and (Flesh for) Frankenstein the past few weeks. Both directed by Paul Morrissey. It was really nice to catch up with these two films. They are campy as hell and the dismemberment scenes in both are classic. Dracula is unable to find a virgin and the Baron has a raging case of necrophilia. They are both genius and hilarious at the same time.

Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday."

I noticed that Flesh For Frankenstein was on the other night, but I was too tired to sit up and watch it. Hopefully they'll show it again over the weekend...

Flesh for F is by far my favorite of the two. You cannot really appreciate the legend that is Udo Kier until you see him in this role. I find Blood for D drags quite a bit in the middle, but there are lots of interesting concepts in it.

I checked out for Blood for Dracula the other night. It did indeed drag a bit, but its still worth the ride. Campy and fun.

"You're a gentleman," they used to say to him. "You shouldn't have gone murdering people with a hatchet; that's no occupation for a gentleman."
