I don't know if any of you guys are interested in this type of thing, but Crutchfield is offering a deal on Polk subwoofers that can't be touched.
Polk Momo 8" sub = 2 for $109.99 http://www.crutchfield.com/app/product/item/main.aspx?i=107MM2084&search=polk+momo
Polk Momo 10" sub = 2 for $149.99 http://www.crutchfield.com/app/product/item/main.aspx?i=107MM2104&search=polk+momo
Polk Momo 12" sub = 2 for $169.99 http://www.crutchfield.com/app/product/item/main.aspx?i=107MM2124&search=polk+momo
These are nice subs, and if you spend more than $129.99 Crutchfield offers free shipping. That's a good thing, because these subs are HEAVY. The shipping would be quite expensive.
I bought a pair of the 10"s, and they arrived today. They sound fantastic no matter what kind of music you listen to.
I have them paired with this amplifier http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113KAC8104/Kenwood-KAC-8104D.html?tp=115. I didn't buy the amp from Crutchfield though. It's WAY cheaper on ebay.

Crutchfield is awesome..
I need to hit them up soon as I need to get two new stereos.. my wife just has a tape deck.. she is using an mp3 player with headphones in the car, I worry enough about her as she is a new and crappy driver, I don't like her doing it.. it's illegal and dangerous...and she sucks at driving more than enough to keep my awake at night.

Hey Misfit, I didn't notice your post until now. If you're still in the market to get your wife a new cd player check this out. Take my advice. GET IT!
It's the best cd player in it's price range.

Or you could get the same unit from Crutchfield with mounting adapter, wiring harness, warranty, and Crutchfields bad ass customer service for $299.00.
I just thought I'd share that with ya man...

I'll find something nice for your price range man. I love car audio, and I'm very good at finding great prices on quality equipment...

How about this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ALPINE-CDE-9872-CAR-...id=p3286.c0.m14
There's a lot to like here. 1. good brand (Alpine) 2. plays .mp3 and .wma discs 3. ipod ready 4. preamp outputs (should you decide to add a subwoofer in the future) 5. detachable faceplate
$120.00 total with free s&h. You'll more than likely have to purchase the ipod cable seperately, but it shouldn't cost more than 12 or 13 dollars.
I don't think you'll find a better h.u. in your price range Misfit (not with comparable upgrade opportunities anyway), and the guy offering it has 99.0 positive feedback with over 100,000 sales.
I'd buy it myself if I didn't already have a nice head unit...
