An Evil Dead sequel sounds wonderful. Especially since the first 3 movies in the series are among the few motion pictures in history that can be objectively, scientifically proven to be awesome

I will believe ED IV is coming out when it's on the screen in front of me. I think ED IV is a real possibility, in time. But, I don't think a fifth installment will ever get made. Raimi and Campbell would be in wheelchairs by the time the script would be 1/2 done. And, that's if they live to be 100.
Needless to say, when/if it does happens, it's going to grab the whole horror world by the balls.

This being officially announced with Bruce as Ash and not as some bullshit re-imagining would be the greatest day ever.
That said . . what's this, Raimi's 500th hint at doing Evil Dead 4? I'm not holding my breath. Evil Dead will eventually be whored out to the remake train like everything else, and the franchise will finally be killed forever, at least how we all know it.
They had a great opportunity to do it about 5 or 6 years ago, when Evil Dead was at the heights of its popularity. Now its kind of faded out again, and most of the die-hard fans are just not as enthused about the genre as a whole anymore. Thats how it seems to me, anyway.

This news couldn't have come at a better time for me having just watched the third arachnerd flick yesterday. I couldn't stop laughing when it turned into a So You Think You Can Dance audition. Actually, I didn't stop laughing through the entire movie. Hopefully they'll cast McGuire as Ash. Fear the bangs, Deadites!
