Ok, heres the thing for me... the crystal skull is supposed to be super, hyper, uber magnetic. However, it was really only showing any properties of being so when it was convenient to the story. As a 'McGuffin' it was lame.

It must also stick to skin, as the batshit crazy old man did not drop it once after going over three large waterfalls.

Yeah, the skull thing was really underplayed. That scene at the beginning, where they are about to shoot Indy, I thought it would've been awesome had they shot at him, the magnetic force of the skull would pull the bullets back into some of the soldiers. But that didn't happen. Talk about a missed opportunity.

Well I've finally seen this movie and I agree with every thing Misfit said about it.

****SPOILERS****

All this movie did was make me angry. The first thing I noticed is that everything looked wrong. It was like they were in a sound set the whole time. The ground always looked fake for some reason, it was just too clean. The dirt even looked clean.

Aliens? WTF

A spaceship? WTF

That fridge? WTF!!!!!!

I must say that I hate this movie and wish that I could unsee it so it doesn't tarnish my views of a wonderful series.

Has anybody seen that recent South Park episode dealing with this issue? If not, I HIGHLY recommend it, because it's absolutely hilarious.

I didn't feel they were that far off the mark, but I do agree with the majority of the complaints and also that it's the weakest film of the bunch. I still think the alien (alternate reality beings) storyline was a valid and fresh way to try and take the franchise. Wasn't happy with all of the changes they made to cannon to fit this specific story (as I noted above), but in my mind those were unnecessary changes to begin with. Thought is was a really good movie, maybe great, just not on par with the previous installments.

I'd be interested to know if the studio realistically raked in as much as they were expecting to at the box office.

it's not so much with me that it went to an Alien theme, but the plot we got felt so worthless and pointless..

I feel like there are so many more interesting things to make of the cities of gold.. it's that the movie displaced us so much that we were not INTO it when they popped up this silly ending... that just made us feel more displaced from the movie..

I once felt Transporter 2 was the ultimate "Oh come on what the fuck was that?" movie.. Indy 4 took it's crown.

OMG, I was really disappointed with Transporter 2 after the first one kicked so much ass.

A friend and I TRIED to watch it a week or two ago. Take notice that I said tried.

I turned it off after about an hour, and I don't think it's necessary to ever finish it. My biggest complaint going into this movie was that Harrison Ford is too old. I was right on the money. The action sequences in this movie are laughable at best.

I didn't really watch it long enough to figure out the entire plot, but I learned enough from what I did see to know that I have no desire to watch it.

Had the movie been made 10 years ago it might've been watchable, but given Harrison Ford's advanced age and physical inability to perform stunts that are necessary for the subject matter I'll have to pass.

I wanted to like it though, I really did...

I watch the South Park episode yesterday and it exactly expresses my feelings on Indiana Jones... They even comment on the fridge.

That was one of the funniest episodes on a long time..
the whole traumatized kid thing witnessing a rape, I really did not see the punchline coming.

Yeah, South Park is still funny. The last couple of seasons have been really good...
