I'd like to add this as well.

I'd rather see films like Pumpkinhead, The Burning or Sleepaway Camp get re-made rather than Prom Night, Black Christmas or The Omen.

I don't catch what you're trying to say about the original pumpkinhead, which is a classic IMO, and I don't think the budget was lacking for their special effects.

I love Pumpkinhead. I think he's one of the best creatures ever. I agree that the special effects were great in Pumpkinhead too, but everything else is lacking. Lance Henrickson was the only actor in the movie who wasn't terrible. Pumpkinhead has loads of potential, and it could be among the best creature features EVER if given the chance.

There are loads of low budget horror movies from the 80s that aren't short on story. If anything gets re-made, it should be movies of that nature ie Pumpkinhead.

I'm not saying that films like Pumpkinhead suck. To be honest I have a place in my heart for them. I'm only saying they're better candidates for remakes than films that got it right the first time around.

I don't think I can explain myself any better than that.

Gotcha, the way you had worded it, made me think you were trying to say that pumpkinhead was of a "shitty" quality, my mistake, I agree that a pumpkinhead remake could be cool, but then again with the list of what you said in the second post, I can understand the idea of making BETTER ORIGINALS, into BETTER REMAKES, however I just feel that anyone currently getting their hands on any of these films will just turn them into big pile's of dogshit, now if someone proves me wrong, I'd be mighty happy.

The horror films of today are like children's toys, you watch them have fun with them, and then they get put in a chest, and lost forever within two weeks.

I definitely haven't seen a new film in the HORROR genre that has the longevity of even the shittiest classic film I own, it's called nostalgia for one part, and the other part is just a better time in filmmaking when people were putting out trash to do it, and not just to make a buck, it was a time when there were a LOT of experimental movie director's doing all kinds of things, yes a lot of it was shitty, but I'd rather watch NAIL GUN MASSACRE over SAW or some shit any day.

And I'm not saying that there haven't been new films I enjoyed, I can remember obsessing over grindhouse, hostel, slither, and 28 days later to name a few, but guess what? I don't even know where I keep those now.

If it's in 3-D shouldn't they be remaking Piranha 2? Flying devil fish, hurray!
