it's hard to choose among so many good movies. He made some of the best horror movies ever. But I'll choose Zombie Flesh Eaters (Zombi 2) and New york ripper...I think.

THE BEYOND. ZOMBI 2 was great and all, but lacked an overall interesting story, which THE BEYOND has. As a matter of fact, I think it's such a great story, somebody should remake it!

Remake it? Why? It's already good movie? It's have this "80's-movie" atphosmere. So, I think that a remake with someone like Sarah Michelle Gellar, who plays in all these pop-movies al'a "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" or remake of "ther grudge".

I was kidding when I said they should remake it. Then again, don't be surprised when in the next couple of years, Hollywood announces a remake. They're remaking everything. EVERYTHING! We should just jump on the bandwagon and start remaking things ourselves. Remakes are good. Remakes are great. Remakes are our lifeblood. Need more remake. Hmmmm, tasty remake.

The Beyond followed close by Gates of Hell. I love Fulci's work though I have only seen the most common films of his. House of Clocks was good too.

Zombie is by far my favorite, but I enjoy many of the master's work (The Beyond, Gates of Hell, House by the Cementry, NY Ripper, and even Zombie 3). They are entertaining and easily re-watchable. Zombie holds a special place in my heart because it was one of the first films I ever rented on video, along with Dawn of the Dead and The Empire Strikes back. Now that is an ultimate triple feature. It was also probable my first true R-rated horror film.

I'm beginning to come around when it comes to Fulci's work. I think he had a great eye for making things LOOK eerie or scary, but I'm not convinced that he had the ability to tell a great story. There isn't a lot of substance to his films, but some of them are visceral and stunning in their own way. That has to account for something if you ask me. I'm not familiar with all of Fulci's work, but from what I've watched I prefer Zombie.
I would prefer being punched in the face by Kimbo Slice to watching Zombie 3 again, but from what I understand Lucio Fulci can't be held 100% responsible for Zombie 3's shittiness...

That's the truth! This movie is so godawful and it really wasn't Fulci's fault. I actually hate to see it in his filmography. I'd suggest Don't Torture a Duckling for Fulci's most accomplished film (at least in some respects) if you haven't seen it. Even if I think the ending scene should be burned, the rest of the film is a wonderfully tense giallo.
My personal pick was tough, but I went with New York Ripper. Nasty, brutal and just plain dirty, this one stands tall with the most twisted giallo ever made. And no, I don't mind the duck voice. I find it amusing and somewhat disturbing in its absurdity. And the soundtrack is the bomb. This one goes for the gut.

My personal favorite is "The Beyond," not only is it one of my favorite Fulci's it's definently in my top 10 films of all time.
That being said there's not a lot of Fulci I dislike (Zombi 3 is the only one, I think). I recently saw the new Media Blasters DVD of Lizard in a Woman's Skin, and loved it. It's Fulci channeling Hitchcock. It sort of, and maybe it was just the locale reminded me of Hitchcock's "Frenzy."

Went with Zombie, but think The Beyond is better.

There are parts of Zombie and The Beyond that I like a lot... but I as a whole film, I'm really starting to dig Manhattan Baby. Yeah, you heard me right. I've seen it about 3 times and I never disliked it. But, what I truly disliked about City of the Living Dead, House by the Cemetery, Zombie, and The Beyond was gone in Manhattan Baby. Plus it's his funniest movie. And it's got a bit more visual panache than I was expecting.
