Just to go over some of the highlights of what I’ve encountered.

---General recognition of the great American Bimbo film of the 1980's. The 80's brought about a great many things including a new wave/imagining of the summer camp and teen sex comedy. One of the byproducts of this was a little sub genre I like to call the Bimbo film. There were hundreds of them made in the 1980's and usually followed a basic pattern of group of mostly dim-witted, attractive young girls getting into a jam and having to come up with some kind of zany scheme to attempt to get themselves out of it while encountering a series of love interests. These films varied dramatically in execution, but at there best are damn fun to watch. The action is usually just a lit of soft-core hijinks, but sex is still at the core of these films. Some of my favorites include:

-The two Bikini Carwash films, you would never guess it but the plot of the films is basically covered in the tittle.

-The five Vice Academy films which were the bimbo films take on the Police Academy series with a progressively wacky sting of sequels and super villains with names like Queen Bee, Spanish Fly and Malathion not to mention the Robotrix style killer robots seen towards the end of the series.

-Miracle Beach, not exactly a typical Bimbo film but has that same feel to it, a heartwarming tale of a unemployed man and the hot magical genie that he finds down by the beach.

-Stewardess School, can a group of mixed up misfits that noone ever believed in turn there lives around and become professional flight attendants? Who cares, but there zany antics are enjoyable enough to watch.

-Getting Lucky, replace genie with alcoholic leprechaun and beach bum with high school student and you have Miracle Beach minus the romantic angle with regard to the magical purveyor of wishes.

-The Malibu Bikini Shop, in this film a couple of dim witted guys and the bimbo’s that hang out with them inherit a bikini shop, but after a series of whimsical hijinks ever business interests want to close them down so now in there darkest hour they turn to surplus medical supplies to create the trendiest bikini the world has ever seen before the deadline and the loss of both the bikini shop and there self respect, err, I mean the loss of the bikini shop.

-H.o.t.s., Just like revenge of the nerds only with a sorority of dim witted bimbo’s, but they build a housekeeping robot and from what I can remember the Southern girl in the sorority starts to make moonshine in the bathtub.

-Breakfast in Bed, again not exactly a traditional bimbo movie, but its in the same spirit. A woman opens a bed and breakfast and much sexual wackiness ensues.

-Dream A Little Evil, what if instead of a babe with magical powers the guys from weird science created a malevolent demon babe with magical powers. For the answer see the film Dream A Little Evil where the bimbo film mixes with serialism.

-Revenge Of the Teenage Vixens From Outer Space, this time the bimbo’s are coming from space and if they don’t like you they can and will turn you into vegetables with there alien ray guns, by vegetable I mean carrots, celery and cucumbers not the mental variety.

It was truly a joy to watch these films, for me it’s a mix of so bad its goo, nostalgia and from time to time genuine quality.

---There was a time in the 1970's and 80's where the porn industry would make overt parodies or popular mainstream films and TV shows. In the last fifteen to twenty years the industry has become more public and as such they rarely do this anymore. The parodies of old were over the top, energetic and sometimes actually creative exorcizes in people being left to there own devices without mainstream restrictions in terms such as copyright in there own sphere. They were epic porn parodies such as Apackolips Now, Battlestar Orgasmica, Beaverjuice and A Nightmare on Dyke Street. One that I will single out as a representative is:

-The Madams Family, this was a relatively newer one from the early 1990's right around the time that they were starting to make fewer and fewer of these and the ones they still do make have none of the old energy, and I am not talking about the sex scenes with this term but the general anything goes, crazy improvisational character of these films. This one was of corse a takeoff of the Adams Family. In it Gomez finds that they are nearly out of money so they decide to turn the house into a bordello with everyone helping out including Lurch and Uncle Fester.

---Fairy Tales, this 1979 outing is a strange sex filled romp through the world of classical fairy tales. It has all the characters that children in the western world grew up reading and hearing about, only in soft core porn form. It has musical numbers, and a quest to find a sleeping beauty portrayed by Linnea Quigley early in her career.

Now for my last two mentions I will head east.

---Bible Black, in the strange and diverse world of Henta or sexual explicit anime you can find a huge variety. From the light to the heavy to the genuinely disturbing or hateful. For me when I want to check out some Henta what I look for is over the top fun. Something crazy that sort of takes itself seriously while being silly as hell and that is the very soul of Bible Black. BB is two separate mini series, plus OVA’s and a computer game. Maybe the best way to explain what Bible Black is all about is to describe a scene from the second mini series. At a small wooden house/temple a buxom purple haired Nun is sexually attacked by evil spirits directed by the 20 something looking daughter of Alister Crowley who happens to be a ghost at the time who is meanwhile hiding in the bushes. Across town a young woman/secret agent is being sexually molested by her secret agent boss, another young girl in her mid 20's who is actually possessed by the spirit of a evil hermaphroditic woman who took over her body as a doge to get out of a dead with demons that she entered into while her high school magic club was trying to sacrifice her in there spell casting basement lair conveniently located under the highschool. At the moment the roll call of the current magic club is there standing around partially naked other then some menacing robes and in a funny sort of way BB is taking the whole thing seriously.

---A Chinese Torture Chamber Story, in the world of CATIII HK films there are sex pics and violence pics and ones that are a little of both, but none that I have seen have been able to juggle the two as well as ACTCS. Its strange, it has a lot of violence and soft core sex, the plot of the film revolves around the trial/framing of two innocent people accused of murdering someone going between the torture scenes of them in the jail and the over the top erotic flashbacks. Its one of two films along with The Eternal Evil of Asia famous for having a scene where two super powered Wu Xia style martial artists fight a flying sex duel, and in my judgment it’s the better of the two. The strange thing is even though its subject matter is kind of a downer for me its become a kind of feel good film. Not for any sadistic reason, but because the characters are somehow very likable and seem nearly to take the majority of the events in stride.
