New Jack Kirby bio coming out about one of the innovators of comic books as we still know them today. Written by Mark Evanier who, among other impressive credits, was an early assistant to Kirby. Here's a story link that includes a excerpt from the book and a very worthwhile audio interview with the author.
-------------------- "Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday."

I saw this one on Amazon a few weeks ago. I was tempted to get it, but there are a few Kirby bios out. I'm more interested in what it has by way of artwork.
I'll probably buy it regardless, since King Kirby is GOD to me.
On a related note, I scored a copy of New Gods #1 on eBay recently. Not a great copy (probably around VG/F) but I just wanted it. Just under $9.
-------------------- My DVDs, thus far...

I've never taken the chance to get into DC's New Gods. I am of course familiar with the hell world Apokolips and Darkseid, but I'm more into Marvel lore than I am DC. I did notice after a quick Wiki search that the biographer Mark Evanier was the primary writer for the third New Gods series.
In my personaly collection I have issues 1-2 from the fourth series in 95, as well as a spattering of a few other New Gods tie-ins as well like Takion.
