I've never read any Lovecraft books or short stories, which ones would you recommend?

The Rats in the Walls and The Call of Cthulhu were both good. I'm currently reading At the Mountains of Madness and it's a fantastic read so far. I'd start with Rats or another shorter one for your first time out. The vibe of that story reminded me quite a bit of Poe's House of Usher.

I don't know if you remember EdgarAllen, but I asked if you had read At The Mountains Of Madness a month or two ago. I'm glad you are enjoying it. I think I'll pick it up "if you recommend it". I've been looking to read a little bit of Lovecraft for a while. I know it's a movie loosely based on one of his stories, but I watched From Beyond for the first time a few days ago and really enjoyed it. I've watched a few films based on Lovecraft's work and so far Re-Animator and From Beyond are my favorites...

Thanks for the suggestions. I got a collection with Rats in the Walls, The Colour of Space, The Dunwich horror and At the mountains of madness. I've read Rats and Colour of Space and loved them. Lovecraft is awesome.
