Well, My expectations are low, I loved the first one but the sequel was just.. WTF were they thinking? this looks like it's trying to capture the original a bit more but it looks low budget and cheesey.. but definately better than the second..
I'll check it out.

I agree this looks better than part 2. At least the plot appears to be more in keeping with the original vision of the first film. Wouldn't set my expectations too high for this film though. Part 2, which also went straight to video, used some stock effects footage which was not used in the original movie. Looks like that might be the case again. Also, this will be Ed Neumeier's first time in the director's chair.

I watched it today, I think it's a lot better than you would expect for a direct to video sequel to SST, I actually kind of liked it, it is nowhere near as good as the original, but so much better than the second.
