You guys need to check out the video for this game, it's a remake of the classic NES side scroller with updated graphics and new abilities. Just google the title of the game to see the video. I think it's going to be Xbox Live exclusive. Bionic Commando is one of my all time favorite games and I think this remake is long overdue.

yea, that is awesome stuff.
Actually it's available with every version of the game.
Will be on Xbox 360, PC and PS3, and the bad news is the developers stated last week the 360 version will be severely gimped graphically because of the Live Marketplace size limit of 150M. It will still be awesome and look good, just not nearly as good as the other versions and it's only because MS set those limits to make all market content small and easily downloadable(and not fill hard drives by making full sized games)

My friend downloaded Sid Meyer's Pirates today from Xbox Live and it's 1.3 gb so I don't really know about the size limitations, maybe they have changed it up a little since starting the Xbox Originals line in the marketplace. Never the less I'm pretty excited about Bionic Commando, it's a side scroller, it doesn't have to have wonderful graphics. Castlevania side scrollers are amazing and their graphics aren't all that hot...

what is odd is the demos and such can be huge, but they limit the arcade games.

I just don't think it'll be that big of a deal. Graphics and textures arent everything, besides this is a downloadable game which will probably cost between 800 and 1200 Microsoft Points on Live. Hell, you can't hardly buy a quality game boy advance game for that price...

I really don't either, it's just textures and to be honest, when something is 2D like that you are so zoomed out the textures are only going to have so much detail to begin with.
but I do think this case will make Microsoft change it's policies in the future.

Well, the only thing about it that's lame is the fact that the developers are going out of their way to conform to the Xbox Live guidlines, and that might make them second guess another game at some point in the future. I'm sure they aren't interested in spending a shit load of money on this game as it's only a download in the marketplace. Maybe if they intended to release it for PS2 it wouldn't be a big deal. Personally I'd like to see the game on the DS but I'll take it any way it comes. I think that re-doing old nes, snes and genesis games is a good direction for companies to take with the online downloadable games. Just think of the possibilities. All of those great old games are just waiting to be modernized and played through again. I know that some people will argue that these games shouldn't be changed but there are also people who love 2d side scrollers and that ship has sailed so this is the next best thing. I can think of a dozen games right off the bat that I'd like to see. Imagine if they did this with all of the old Castlevania, Metroid and Metal Gear games. It would be fantastic, and 1,000,000 times better than the lame ass puzzle games that dominate Xbox Live right now. Just think of it, "Real" games that have story lines and take more than 20 minutes to complete. There are worse ideas out there...

I agree, there are so many great games that would be more than a worthy purchase with upgraded controls/graphics.. and it really would not be all that tough to do.
I hope we see more of them.

The wait is over, and it was definitely worth it.
Bionic Commando Rearmed is fantastic.
If you have Xbox Live buy the game immediately. It's only 800 Microsoft Points...

I bought it as soon as I could. It is awesome and worth the download.
The only problem I have with the game is that you cannot play multiplayer over Xbox Live. There is only local multiplayer. Here's hoping they add it in the future!

Misfit are you sure? I think I read somewhere that they've been raising file size limits on xbox live on a case by case basis, and I'm sure the file size can't be "greatly" superior to what they're putting on xbox live anyhow, I wouldn't doubt that's what they developed on, but I'm pretty sure microsoft would raise their limit capacity.
They even just recently put the original SOUL CALIBUR on the marketplace as a LIVE ARCADE game, and I think they said the file size for that was "unprecedented" for an xbox live game, so again I'm hard pressed to believe they didn't give bionic commando rearmed leeway, plus that link seems ridiculously biased...IMO "visually gimped" doesn't sound of utmost professionalism.
I do need to get this game however cause it looks sweet, just watching the IGN video review had me salivating. I just need to run out and get me some points, cause credit cards are evil to those who not knoweth how to use them.

MS has been pretty strict about sizes, but the 360 version while lesser than the other versions, turned out pretty close in the end, the game was delayed for 3 months to get the 360 version in shape, From what I'm reading they just ported it to PS3 the same way so in the end, the PC version is the only one with better graphics.. aside from some v-sync issues with the 360 version the PS3 version looks pretty much the same in the end .
I hear it's just madly a kickass game.
