Even though I want to protest the fact they split the glory that is Grindhouse.. I still wanted to get this on DVD so I got it from Netflix to check it out... to my horror this dvd contains.. Deathproof and nothing else.. this means none of the fake ads between films.. this is just fucking lame..
Anyone know if they will release the full uncut grindhouse anytime soon?

Probably. I would hold off on buying either Grindhouse movie. Quentin and Robert are not new to the DVD double dip (ie: Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Jackie Brown, Sin City) and I don't think they really wanted their movies to be released separately so I'm sure they will release some loaded 3 disc set or something eventually. At least I hope so.

Yea it sucks, but I can kind of see how moves from the grindhouse era went to theatres billed together, but weren't released on home video together, so it makes some sense, but still the point was a double feature.
the only thing that sucks is these movies are so good, I rented death proof and thought the extended version was way better, and I'll rent planet terror as well.
but definitely buy the grindhouse version.

Well, I too was a little angry. But as lame as it sounds, it makes my experience watching Grindhouse in the theater even more special, because I'll never see it in that format on home video (yet at least). But I gotta say, the whole "Grindhouse Presents" tag on the box is just lame as hell. Makes it look like a brand name like that awful "Dimension Extreme" thing. It's like regular Dimension but it's EXTREEEEEME! *bites off head of kitten, spits in old lady's face*

Haha, like the Terminator 2 DVD, the one with the "metal" case that tears up the plastic case. Artisan EXTREME DVD.

I would not be as pissed if it was the full second half, but lacking any of the fake trailers is a bummer.

That is very true. I was lucky enough to see the uncut version of the Thanksgiving trailer at SXSW, and it bums me that I'll never see it again and no one will believe me that it exists.
