Dead Silence: How did we miss this?
      #134264 - 07/02/07 04:11 PM

I was just curious if anyone had heard of the movie DEAD SILENCE when it was in theatres?

I was at Best Buy with some buddies looking for a new DVD to add to the collection and came across DEAD SILENCE. I hadn't heard of it before but it looked pretty good so I picked it up. I was seriously impressed.

It's an Urban Legend type, horror film with a pretty awesome twist at the end. The movie tells the legend of Mary Shaw, an old ventriloquist who went mad and was eventually be-tongued, killed and buried with her "children," her collection of hand-made puppets. Years later, Shaw and her puppets are seeking revenge on her town.

DEAD SILENCE is definitely a classic horror movie, so if you are in the mood to be scared, go pick up the DVD. If you don't like gory movies (like my girlfriend), fear not...the movie isn't bloody much at all...just creepy. Am I the only one who hadn't heard of this good movie before? Just curious

Hi there, welcome to the board. I saw this last night and was unimpressed. Nice make-up job but creepy dolls allone cannot carry a film IMHO.
