It's looking like this thing isn't gonna turn out so well . . I'm sure some of you have heard about the script review.

It'ls still too early to really know, but man, if that script review is right then we have a real piece of shit on our hands . .

Well, the concept of reviewing a script is incredibly stupid, and the guys at AICN are probably the biggest fanboy jerkoffs in the world, but that's a thread for another day. I still have high hopes for this one. Just the fact that there will be no Busta Rhymes is promising enough. And I do firmly believe that Zombie is one of the most talented horror directors around today.

Yes but . .

::SPOILERS::

Myers masturbating to dead animals, pissing on corpses, etc. is ridiculous. As is the "oh poor killer had a bad childhood" thing. BORING. As is his escape from the asylum, involving two workers raping a retarted girl in front of Michael. And worst of all: His multiple masks that he wears as his "mood" alters, including a "taking a shit mask." Zombie's going for shock instead of scares, a serious no-no in a Halloween film. I know it's supposed to be a new vision but unless serious changes are made it's going to be a new SHITTY vision. Saying "at least there's no more Busta Rhymes" is starting to get cancelled out.

I hated that Ressurection was a big MTV show but I don't want Halloween to be The Devil's Rejects either. I guess we should have expected it.

Too early to really tell though. Maybe a trailer will prove the internet wrong. (love that the set is getting protestors though . . haha)

Ok, your judging too quickly, it may suck and it might rule, we wont know until August. Honestly, I like the idea of making Myers more of a sadistic fuck, like real life killers, such as John Wayne Gacey or Ed Gein, take away the fantsy eliment, and make it hyper sick and real. Better then doing another emotionless walking death machine like all the other Halloweens.

secondly, how do we even know it's the real script, it could be a fake sent out to fuck with the fans

It's just a sad time for me as a JC fan. I love most of his movies and every day there's a new story/rumor that another of his classics will be *remade*. But even beyond that, JC's HALLOWEEN basically gave birth to the modern slasher, I really don't understand the motivation for a remake or reimaging.

Apparently that's the direction it's going, especially in the first part of the film. The only things that make this new HALLOWEEN palatable for me at all is the fact that it probably can't be any worse than any of the sequels past part 3. Also, I hear JC gave his blessing to Zombie (although I still disagree with a remake).

Well, I think that's basically what's coming to the theater. However, a couple of early screening reviews I've read say RZ's version is not crap, so if your looking forward to this redux, there may be reason to have hope.

1, Why is young Michael played by a girl?
2. What's with the wrestling mask and long hair?
3. The William Shatner mask is now a Leatherface mask?

I've seen most of this. I have about a half-hour left to go . .

So far, pretty much what I expected. A "Halloween" for the kind of person who thinks The Devil's Rejects is the best horror movie ever. Right now I'd give it a 5 or 6/10. I'll post my complete thoughts in the New in Theaters section when I finish the rest tonight.

Variety's review had it spot-on: "This isn't the last we've seen of Michael Myers. Let's just hope it goes back to the way it was instead of sequalizing this lame beginning."

well, I really liked 1000 corpses, I loved Devils Rejects, but that did not keep me from the reality that Halloween 2007 is a real stinker.
