Tenebre. The really good kill cemented it as a classic (don't wanna spoil it for anyone). I much prefer Fulci to Argento because Dario tends to be artsy horror while Fulci's is more raw and more in the traditional horror sense. For example, The House by the Cemetery has some staples of atmospheric horror... the creepy house, the cemetery, etc... which are far more effective to me than the colored lights of Argento. The colored lights are very nice looking, don't get me wrong.

Suspiria is still the bloody victor. Phenomena is incidentally a close step behind, it is just a fun and exciting classic that never gets old. Besides Jennifer Connelly is spectacular, even though she is a mere 15 in the film. Tenebre would be a close third, followed by Deep Red. I haven't seen Argento's most recent work(Trauma, The Card Player, and Sleepless) but word has it they are bloody diahrea from the Italian guru.

Although I voted for PHENOMENA, DEEP RED (PROFONDO ROSSO)would be up there to. They're the only 2 I've seen, but I'll probably be buying TRAUMA & TENEBRE soon.

Has anyone seen his new movie, The Card Player? I'm thinking of picking it up.

It's a bit of a throwback to the traditional giallo form. I enjoyed it quite a bit.
