Well, the idea of having a full blown music thread here on the board is a bust I suppose, but I think it's appropriate that we have a share thread for OOP or live bootleg albums which are totally legal to upload. I own or have access to loads of music that you guys are more than welcome to should you want it. I'll start with my Pantera collection. I have 4 full length Pantera studio albums that aren't even acknowledged by the band as official releases. They were recorded between 1983 and 1988, and the band was a somewhat glam influenced thrash metal outfit at the time. Here they are in no particular order. Metal Magic Projects In The Jungle I Am The Night Power Metal Phil Anselmo joined the band before Power Metal was recorded, and it's the first Pantera album that features his vocals. There's an obvious shift in the band's direction and style on this album that would eventually become the more popular Cowboys From Hell sound. The band would ultimately go on to be one of the biggest metal acts in history, and they never really stopped growing musically. In my opinion it's pretty cool to hear how it all started. This album is hard to find unless you're willing to drop between 30 and 60 dollars for a copy denpending on the format. To be honest it's kind of funny to hear Phil sing high notes in the style of many late 80s metal crooners, but that was METAL at the time right? My question is this. Would any of you guys like to have any or all of these albums? If so I can upload them and post links in this thread. I'm not going to lie to you, Metal Magic, Projects In The Jungle and I Am The Night are totally forgettable, but Power Metal is a must for any Pantera fan... |

If you're interested in hearing the Graves album that's been the topic of so many heated debates in The Misfits community over the past 2 months and commands upwards of $100.00 on ebay here's your chance. The album will more than likely be back in circulation before long, so take this opportunity to check it out for free before Dr. Scrub re-releases it. http://rapidshare.com/files/113848453/Graves.rar.html This album was written by MICHALE GRAVES, and many of the songs appeared on a demo that he recorded in 1998. The demo I'm refering to was recorded about 3 years before this album was released, and that proves Dr. Choad had nothing to do with the song writing process of many of the tracks on Web Of Dharma. The quality of the asshole's music since Michale parted ways with him also proves that he's a hack. If a man didn't write any material on an album how can he possibly own the copyright to the music? I don't know the answer to that question, but I hope Dr. Suck doesn't make a dime from this album. Enjoy these classic MICHALE GRAVES songs. |

If you like Graves - Web Of Dharma be sure to go over to www.michalegraves.net to purchase downloads of his newer material. I'd recommend Illusions and Seasons Of The Witch. Illusions is mellow in nature, and consists of a few songs which were written in collaboration with Damien Echols of the WM3. There are also acoustic versions of a few Michale Graves era Misfits songs on the album. The download is $8.00, and it's easily worth twice that amount. Below is a live recording of the song Gorch which appears on Illusions. This is a very powerful song which was written about one of Michale's childhood friends who drowned. http://rapidshare.com/files/115047043/michale_graves_-_gorch__live_.mp3.html Seasons Of The Witch is a re-release of the album Gotham Rd. recorded after the band Graves collapsed. It's a pretty straight forward metal album, and it's one of the best of it's kind in the past decade. I personally think Gotham Road's Seasons Of The Witch is Michale's best album. The lineup of musicians in the band is incredible, and Michale's voice is best suited to this style of music IMO. You can pick it up for $8.00 as well. Michale is currently on tour supporting Illusions. I've attended this show, and it is absolutely amazing. If he's coming to your town be sure to check it out. In most cases the tickets are in the $10.00 range, and that's a small price to pay. The show will remind you of the old MTV Unplugged sessions. Should you decide to attend be sure to bring along some Misfits/Michale Graves collectibles as Michale is notorious for hanging out after shows to make sure every person is able to snatch a photo or autograph... I don't exactly personally own any oop stuff or bootlegs, but I've gotten pretty good at finding download links to stuff, especially Pink Floyd bootlegs. If anyone's interested, I can post some of those here. Or does that kind of defeat the purpose of this thread since it's supposed to be a "share" thread? |
||||||||
|
|
|||||||
|
Well, this share thing is totally my idea, and it's not endorsed by horrorspeak in any way. I don't think posting links is a bad idea, but make sure that they are for albums/songs that are either OOP or bootleg live recordings. We don't want www.horrorspeak.com to have even one incident of people posting links to illegal torrent sites and things of that nature. KEEP IT CLEAN AND LEGAL!!!, that way people can enjoy some of the things posted in this thread if they want. There is a ton of great music on the internet that's absolutely free and legal if you know where to look for it... Check back often, because I'll be adding links to content or news on a daily basis. I'm going to do my best to turn some of you guys on to some great horror related bands during the next couple of weeks... |

Here's a link to a band out of Bluefield Virginia called Blitzkid. These guys are very hard working, and their co-vocalist/bass player Argyle Goolsby is now the front man for ex Misfits guitarist Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankentstein's band Gorgeous Frankenstein. Here are a couple of links to a Canadian band called Nim Vind. These guys have been pretty big in the underground scene for a few years now, and they play flaswlessly live. Quote:Quote:That is mucho appreciated I'm sure. PMs or email is a preferred way to discuss files of unknown copyright status. That's what I meant when I said I'd post Pink Floyd stuff, if there's interest. Pink Floyd has one of the largest amount of RoIOs on the internet and users who share these. Most consist of live shows, unreleased material (of which there is a shitload) and demos. For example, there is a 9 volume, 18 cd compilation called A Tree Full of Secrets that consists entirely of unreleased material. |

Lastly for today I'd like to mention a band that I've been listening to for about 5 years now. They're called Tiger Army, and they're fantastic. They're kind of strange because it's hard to define which genre they fit into. IMO Tiger Army is one of the most underrated bands out there. Anyway, these guys are out of California, and they've got several studio albums which are equally bad ass. If you've never heard them do yourself the favor of following these links. Forever Fades Away http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=dX9rg2bnFno Incorporeal http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=fwoiaXoNmAw Rose Of The Devil's Garden http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=GM5J5mymMNg AfterWorld (Fan Made Video) http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=QgElZztun8o I'll be adding a new download or two tomorrow evening, so check back to see if they interest you at all. First of all I'll be uploading a live bootleg of Michale Graves' last show as the official lead singer of The Misfits. This is the show where "contrary to Jerry Only's lies" Michale quits the band. Jerry has stated many times over the years that Michale was fired, but this bootleg proves otherwise. I haven't really decided what else I'm going to put up, so if you're enjoying this at all just check back... |

Quote:Quote:Quote:That is mucho appreciated I'm sure. PMs or email is a preferred way to discuss files of unknown copyright status. I would enjoy hearing some of the unreleased material, but only if downloading it is the only way to hear it. If the music is available to purchase ANYWHERE then linking it is illegal. I'm sorry if you're taking this to heart, or if you feel like EA was attacking you in any way. There are other forums on the internet which host share threads, and a lot of the people on those forums are notorious for linking illegal torrents and what have you. I'm sure EA was only stating the obvious when he agreed with the KEEP IT CLEAN AND LEGAL comment. At any rate, if you have access to these live bootlegs and other various Pink Floyd materials then by all means link them for everyone who may want to listen. Be sure to search around on google and find out if they're OOP or unavailable for purchase first. www.amazon.com is also a good place to find out if music is OOP. If you search for an album and it (A.) isn't listed or (B.) costs a ridiculous price for a used copy then it's a safe bet that it's OOP... |

Here's the live Misfits bootleg where Michale quits the band. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VIHLFRCY During the song Don't Open Til Doomsday Doyle (guitar) walks off the stage. After that song is over Dr Chud (drums) walks off the stage. At the beginning of We Are 138 Michale says "So, it's come to this?" and walks off the stage leaving Jerry Only to perform We Are 138 by himself. I don't know if anyone gives a damn about this, but it's a pretty nice addition to any Misfits collection... I'd also like to add that I didn't upload this bootleg. I found a link to it on another site, and I'm using this link to save myself some time. Enjoy... |

Alright, this is today's second download. I've been trying to push Michale Graves, The Misfits, Tiger Army, Nim Vind and Blitzkid on you guys so here's something a lot more mainstream. There's a Linkin Park EP that floats around on the internet, and comes up on ebay once in a while called Hybrid Theory. There's a big difference between this EP and the band's album Hybrid Theory which has sold like 80 gajillion copies. First of all this EP has totally different songs than the album of the same name, and the band's name is different as well. On this EP the band goes by the name "drum roll please" HYBRID THEORY. I'm not a fan of Linkin Park, so I'm not going to go into any detail about this EP. I can say a few things about it though. It's OOP, it's fuckin' expensive on ebay "when it's on ebay", it's got Linkin Park songs on it that you've probably never heard and I'm giving it to you for free. Hybrid Theory - Hybrid Theory EP http://rapidshare.com/files/115515913/Hybrid_Theory.rar.html Enjoy... |

One last thing for today. I'm going to provide a link to The Misfits music video for Scream. This video was directed by George A. Romero, and I personally think it's one of the coolest music videos ever. Being that I'm a huge Romero and Misfits fan I guess my opinion is biased, but what are ya gonna do? There's a really good story behind this video that members of the band will share with anyone who asks about it. It turns out that George Romero shot Scream for The Misfits free of charge because the band wrote two songs for his movie Bruiser. The songs I'm referring to are entitled Bruiser aka If Looks Could Kill and Fiend Without A Face. The entire business deal was sealed with a handshake while Mr. Romero and the band had coffee. I'm sure that many of you have watched Bruiser and are well aware that The Misfits also appeared in the film during it's climax. That's a pretty cool story, and I only wish that I could meet George Romero, let alone have him direct something for me. Anyway, here's the link. http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=cc8EDKkmra8 |

While I'm still sitting around waiting for sleep I'd like to give you guys a link to a Gotham Road demo that was given to myself a few weeks back. This is technically a demo, but it's pretty much a full length album. It contains re-recordings of quite a few songs from the original Graves album Web Of Dharma, but it also contains a pretty cool song entitled Sometimes The Buildings Cry and a alternate cut of the Gotham Rd. track Creo Burn. I have no idea why Michale never released a download for this album on his site, but I suppose he has his reasons. Gotham Rd. - Web Of Dharma 2 Demo http://www.fileden.com/files/2006/9/23/234644/Web%20of%20Dharma%202.rar Enjoy... Thanks to weedhimself of michalegraves.net, misfitscentral.com and youtube.com notoriety. Be sure to go to youtube and check out some of his videos. He has the best Misfits and Michale Graves related videos you'll find anywhere. If you like this album be sure to visit www.michalegraves.net and purchase the full length Gotham Road re-release entitled Seasons Of The Witch. It really is a great album, and it's only 10 bucks... |

Here's a link to a Samhain bootleg. For those who don't already know Samhain is the band that Glenn Danzig formed when he split from The Misfits. This band is held in high regard by a lot of old school Misfits fans, and it's been called one of the greatest transitional bands in history. It's also been said that this is the style of music that Danzig wanted The Misfits to play, but Jerry and Doyle weren't capable of it at the time for whatever reason. The band isn't one of my favorites by any means, but there are a lot of Danzig fans out there and I'm sure that not all of them have heard or even know about Samhain. Samhain - Black Dream Bootleg http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2650PJC1 Enjoy... Thanks to capsular from over at misfits central. |
