I had forgotten all about this until DriveInFan mentioned it in another post. Man I wanted to go see this bad when I was a kid. The general idea is unsuspecting folks get sucked under the sand, presumably by something cool. Anybody seen this one?

Wow I remember seeing this when I was a kid! I don't remember anything about it except people getting sucked under the sand. I have a distinct memory of little sand funnels that twirls. hmmm...
I wish I could go back when things were awesome, even if they did suck.

I whole heartedly agree TS. I remember being kinda scared when whoeevr was under the dock or board walk or whatever. I think it may have been kids or somethign making out. My mom used to work in a vid store back in 99 and thats the last time I've seen it. I actually own a prerecord somewhere...

Most definitely! John Saxon AND Burt Young (Paulie from the Rocky films), a great ad campaign (that scared me as an eight-year-old), and the tagline "Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water - you can't get to it." Brilliant!

I just recently picked this movie up off of ebay, it's funny because it cost me the most out of any film I've bought, and all signs pointed to a stinker, but I actually enjoyed this film quite a bit.
I mean with the title, and cover sure it's a little weak, but you gotta love police cheif John Saxon, and that dude who plays paulie, I saw his name but already forgot it, has some seriously fucked up one liners.
I also love watching the white afro dude getting sucked down, and the wandering homeless lady who "knows". lol.
"Yah man, blood beach, right on!"
