I've been reading The Walking Dead lately (pretty awesome comic IMHO... I'm not the comic-reading type, but that series is really sometin' else...), and as a result I'm seriously in the mood for some zombie flicks. Problem is, I've seen pretty much everything I can think of in that genre several times over, from the classics (Dead trilogy, ROTLD, Braindead, Let Sleeping Corpses Lie, Wild Zero, etc.), to the so-bad-they're-good (Zombie Creeping Flesh, City of the Walking Dead, Zombie 3, etc.), to the just plain weird (Erotic Nights of the Living Dead, Stacy, etc.). Lately, there seems to be quite a few zombie flicks coming out that fly right under the radar, to the point where I hardly even heard of them. Stuff like Flight of the Living Dead (which I recently saw at Fantasia) and Night of the Living Dead 3D (which I downloaded illegaly, mwaaah-ha-ha!!). The two aforementionned flicks, while definitely not classics, were at least entertaining and provided some decent makeup/gore FX and zombie/survival action. Which is really all I'm looking for right now : just the thought of seeing a few new and decent zombie flicks is enough ![]() So, can anyone recommend a few recent, lesser-known zombie flicks that are worth watching? Thanks in advance!! |

Not really lesser known but thought I'd offer up some suggestions anyway.... Dellamorte Dellamore (aka Cemetery Man) Night of the Creeps Undead You're post made me think of a movie I saw quite a while back and forgot the name. This is probably from the early 80's. A guy (possibly Cliff De Young but not for sure) traveling with a kid (maybe his little brother) in his muscle car. Drives into a small town where something is amiss. I remember the man being trapped in a school bathroom by a horde of zombie-types. He climbs on top of the stall dividers trying to escape thru the ceiling.... what is this? I'm also enjoying Max Brooks' World War Z novel a great deal. My wife got me the first The Walking Dead graphic novel for Christmas but I have only read the first chapter. |

Quote: Those are 3 good ones (especially Dellamorte Dellamore). About World War Z, I heard they're gonna make a movie based on it. Sounds great! |

Quote:Quote: I had read somewhere that Brad Pitts production company had the rights to both Zombie survival guide and World war Z. I might be wrong though. And personally I always enjoyed Shock Waves. Peter Cushing baby! |

I'm gonna extend my request to include lesser-known older zombie flicks as well. Basically, any zombie flick that hasn't been widely discussed on this board. Like, maybe, some of the more obscure Italian stuff (I'm sure there must be at least a few of those I have yet to see...). Any help would be greatly appreciated : I need my zombie fix!!

Dude, keep up with The Walking Dead, Robert Kirkman is a genius. I personally think it's one of if not the best zombie story ever. If you get the chance you should check out Marvel Zombies too, Kirkman wrote it as well and it's pretty entertaining in it's own right. I even heard rumors at one point that HBO picked up The Walking Dead for a series but I haven't heard any follow up on that for a LONG time, here's hoping it's true... |

Almost forgot this. How about George A. Romero's Diary of the Dead? I haven't had a chance to see it yet but I'm really looking forward to it. I heard it's like a mix between NOTLD and The Blair Witch Project. Don't know what you guys think about that but I think it sounds interesting... |

Peligro, have you watched City Of Rott? It's a zombie cartoon about a crazy old man with a walker who is left behind in a city full of zombies. The entire premise of the movie is the old man trying to find a new pair of shoes because his feet hurt. It's got some sub-par animation but even so I thought it was fantastic. I don't know where you'd find it, maybe ebay, but it's worth picking up if you haven't seen it.. |

They keep bringing the ''HBO series'' thing up in the Walking Dead letter column... I'd love it if the idea ever came to fruition. It's about time there was an ongoing zombie-themed TV series. There's an official City of Rott DVD release by Unearthed Films. Been meaning to check it out for a while. They're also gonna be releasing the same director's next cartoon flick, which looks pretty damn cool (despite being a rather obvious Evil Dead ripoff) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlKYXXGjaY4 |
