Halloween 666: The Origin Of Michael Meyers

I finally tracked this puppy down on dvd. The quality is shitty but I guess it'll do for now. Have any of you guys watched it? Do any of you own it on dvd? If so what did you think, how is the quality and where did you buy it? I personally think it is superior to the normal version of Halloween 6. Damn you for taking Donald Pleasence from us!!!

yeah i saw this one in the movie theater with my sister.
i vaguely remember paul rudd as a quasi-goth kid with a sisters of mercy poster in his bedroom (oooh how 'darque') also i have even a vaguer memory of being able to vote for an alternate ending...
i admit that i may of wanted to glamorize the experience a bit..heh

Re: Halloween 666: The Origin Of Michael Meyers

I love the addition of Wicked Guitar Squeels to a Fat middle aged stalking Michael Myers.

But in all honesty I love this movie, own the VHS, saw it in theatres when it first came out, but was so young, covered my ears most of the time, lol. Kind of aged now, and it is odd seeing a young paul rudd.

shitty story, decent ending, R.I.P. Donald Pleasance.

I have all the Halloweens on DVD, but I have a copy of H6 the producers cut also. It's cool because it shows the extended scenes, but the quality of the scenes are horrible. Makes it less than pleasurable to watch due to the bad transfer. They NEED to get this out on official DVD so people can quit making these wretched bootlegs. All in all the producers cut really makes the whole thing come together. Watching the standard pt.6 I always felt like I was watchinga chopped movie with missing pieces. Something wrong with the flow.

Re: Halloween 666: The Origin Of Michael Meyers

A co-worker of mine lent me a copy of the producer's cut last night, and I must say that I found it to be lightyears better than the chopped up version of the film.

I felt the changes were a bit minimal, or subtle, but a little donald pleasance here, and a little donald pleasance there, and a pace that is lightyears better than that hacked up piece of shit, I found this to be a great film in the HALLOWEEN series, I would personally place the producer's cut 3rd in quality, preceded only by the first two films.

The overall tone, ORIGINAL soundtrack, Pacing, and the shitty quality really placed it in the realm of "HALLOWEEN" where as the other version of this film is like a music video, this is a movie very similar to halloween, it's just sad it has to tie in with all the garbage they introduced in 5, or who knows how this could have been?

The idea of having tommy doyle back alone, but again a freaky paul rudd, lol. I think the figure who benefits the most from this version is WYNN, I mean in the original release, he's in maybe 2 scenes before the reveal, and he's just too distanced from the picture to be an integral "villain".

In this version, the twist makes sense. Although I thought the final bit with LOOMIS getting the "mark" was just a little cheese ball, and quickly ejected that segment from my thoughts, but overall, light years above the originally released cut.

I still can't find a high quality Halloween 666 DVD.

I'm content with my bootleg of the producer's cut, but I really really want a higher quality transfer.

It's a shame, but we'll probably never get one...

Well, if you ask me (and I know nobody did, but bear with me), if a movie/movie version has never officially been released on your continent, then torrenting it isn't much of a sin. Ya dig?

I've been known to pie rat from time to time.

I have the producers cut of the film, but the video quality is BAD. As far as I know there isn't a better transfer (even in torrent land). I've looked many times...
