Why NOES would have been a better choice for R. Zombie

I'm serious. Don't get me wrong, I do love the original Nightmare. But if asked, which one really does deserve a little fresh blood in its tank?

What bothered me about the Halloween remake was Michael's background. Abused? Give me a break. One of the majors points of the original is that Meyers represents that nasty, scummy undercurrent beneath suburbia. But on the outside, everything whitewashed and lifeless. And Meyers, faceless, acting without reason or logic, is the byproduct.

I'm sure someone out there would argue for Zombie's creative license, but why? It's brilliant as is. And not something I think needed a slimey finger poked into.

NOES on the other hand could have used just that backstory to flesh out Krueger. The most disturbing thing about the movie should have been what a sick f*** he was when he was alive. As scary as it was when I first saw it, I think all that would make for something well above where NOES stands with me now.
