Sorry fedor, I honestly thought it would work. I have witnessed people "including myself" do it, and just assumed it would work for you. But hey, at least you tried. Had it worked it would've been pretty sweet. There are a couple more things you could try though, if you can figure out the name it's registered under you can definitely get the replacement. I don't know exactly how you'd go about doing this, but I'm sure if you get creative you can find out. The internet is pretty useful at times. You could contact the repair center and inform them that you bought the console used from Babbages, EB, Gamestop or any other credible place where used consoles are sold. You could get lucky. I wouldn't give up on it yet if I were you, god knows you'll have a pretty nice feeling of satisfaction when and if you stick it to the assholes. I'm totally on your side and hope you ultimately get your console replaced free of charge...
