When I called them they told me it was because they wante dto add more "Value" channels, in their mind that means more value to the customer but in reality it means the same thing buying "Value Packs" in the grocery store means.. getting cheaper crap for less money..

We got some crappy tennis channel, a bunch of other crap, the only positive is they added Animal Planet in HD which I do enjoy but it's no replacement for Monsters HD. Granted it had been slacking lately showing the same 2-3 crappy movies over and over again but I still loved every minute of it.. I was lucky enough to catch the Bruce Lee Documentary just before they pulled the plug on Kungfu.
