Overall I didn't think Salo was a very entertaining movie but it was pretty sick so I wanted to have it in my collection. I remember I was in the Virgin Megastore in NYC years ago when it had just come out and, strangely, they had tons of copies but I passed on it with the intention of picking it up at a later date. Unfortunately I never did pick it up and I've been kicking myself for it ever since. I wouldn't sell it if I had it but it would have been cool to have knowing it's so sought after. The Criterion Salo is actually one of the exception to what I said in my last post; I believe superior editions of this movie have been released on DVD elsewhere in the world but the going rate seems to remain the same for the now inferior one. I guess there are alot of people out there who really want a full Criterion collection. My OOP Criterion's don't go for anything. ![]() Yeah, who knows what they'll be worth in 5 - 10 years but I think by that point they'll probably be on Blue-Ray or HD-DVD, I guess that could make the value go either way although I tend to lean towards down. Also, who knows what will happen to the ones you have open in 5 - 10 years; they might be good to have around as backups. The collectible market is a funny thing sometimes. Eh, whatever you do with them I hope you get something good for them or a decent price; they're good editions, I have them both (LHODES and LSCL). Just figured I'd post what I did before so you aren't surprised if you auction them and don't get those high prices you people trying to sell them for. |
