It's kinda weird how all these guys dropped off the face of the Earth in the late 90's. I don't expect these to be great, but they should be fun reminders of Italian horrors history.

I'm really excited about the new guy, it's been a long time since the spaghetti horror scene had had new blood. I guess Soavi's not the baby anymore.

I hope they fare better in their revival than Argento did...

By the way, did anyone see the bunch of new cannibal and zombie flicks that Bruno Mattei did just before he died? The cannibal flicks look like bland modern-day direct-to-dvd crap... but the zombie ones actually look pretty awesome IMHO.

And by "awesome", I mean ridiculously inept and wonderfully entertaining goofy shlock, just like Mattei used to give us on a regular basis back in his 80's "prime". Unlike every other recent "Italian horror revival" flicks I've seen, they really seem to capture the look and feel of our beloved gory cheesefests from the 70's and 80's.

I saw these two. "Zombies: The Beginning (2007)", "Island of the Living Dead (2006)".
They were good I thought, especially Island.

Man, how did you manage to see those?! I've looked everywhere, and found neither DVDs nor torrents...
