You guys should really buy or dl the World War Z audio book, it's really nice. James Woods and Henry Rollins are just a few of the celebrity "actors" in it. I'm at the beginning of the 3rd disc and so far it's great. This is the first audio book I've ever listened to and I gotta say that it's not as bad as I thought it would be. I'd rather read it myself but altogether the audio book is pretty entertaining. The copy I've got came with the World War Z ebook as well so I'll probably read it once I'm finished listening to the cds.

I use to feel that way about audio books to, but I became accustomed to them after trying a couple. The worst part is sometimes the narrator sucks and you either have to muscle past it or stop listening. I would imagine WORLD WAR Z makes a kickass audio book. Some titles just lend themselves to the audio format while others are almost impossible to keep up with. I got a Anne Rice book on tape one time and just could not follow along. God, she could dedicate 100 pages to describing a leaf on a tree.

James Woods and Henry Rollins? That sounds cool to me, though I'm not really into audio books. I have been meaning to read this one. Have to get my hands on a copy.

I heard the audio book drops a number of chapters completely, and shortens some of the chapters it does have...
Which character does Henry Rollin play? Is it the mercenary guy (he'd be perfect for that one IMHO)??

No way. That just blows. I can't imagine a good reason for making that decision, or the author agreeing to it if he had any recourse at all.

Yeah, it is an abridged version but it's still amazing. Henry Rollins is the mercenary working for the millionaires who have their reality show styled mansion attacked. I know it's abridged and I haven't read the book yet but I'm serious, it's fantastic. Alan Alda also "plays" a character. I finished it last night and it's really hard to tell where the missing parts would fit in, it seems more than thorough to me. It's 6 hours on 5 cds. If you're interested you can dl it from www.thepiratebay.org or you could do the right thing and buy a copy from www.amazon.com or any number of other sites. I saw a copy on ebay earlier today for $9.99 and 4.99 s&h. At that price ANY ZOMBIE FAN SHOULD OWN THIS! There's no telling how many times I'll end up listening to it, and I'm pretty sure that lots of you would feel the same...
