I know this game is old news, but I just got around to playing it a couple of days ago. I'd been thinking of getting Conan for a long time, but ultimately I decided to rent it. I'm going to keep this short and just say that I liked it very much. IMO it's almost identical to God Of War as far as game play is concerned. The story is pretty much your standard Conan fare. Cut people up, bed down women, fight a monster, save a topless girl and fight another monster. The combat system is pretty deep, and the parry moves add some depth to your standard beat 'em up adventure title.
I have a couple of gripes about Conan too. First of all the jumping is pretty much useless. At certain points in the game you have to jump from platform to platform and it feels completely awkward. Another thing that bothers me about the game is that you can't ungrade your weapons. IMO an adventure game should employ some RPG type features, and my favorite would be upgrading weapons. You can pick up any weapon in the game and use it, but they all pretty much do the same thing. Powering up different types of swords, spears and shields would've added a little more "customization" to the game. My last gripe would be Conan's magic. In the game you gather pieces of armor. Each piece has it's own magical attack, and you have to fill a meter to use it. The meter takes forever to fill, and the magic attacks are pretty much worthless. I don't understand why they'd employ magic attacks in the game at all if you're only going to be able to use them every 15 minutes.
That's pretty much what I thought of the game, and I'd like to hear what you guys thought of it as well...
