I've been watching a lot of game video's lately since E3 just ended, and man some games are really starting to impress me. I was figuring us gamers could post a current wishlist, and discuss some games on the horizon. Here's mine:
1. Gears of War 2 - GoW 1 is one of my favorite games of all time, I fell in love with it when it was first released, I loved the gameplay, art style, level design, character models, everything worked in my personal favor, and after seeing some video's of GoW2, I'm impressed to say the least, and can't wait to play the game.
2. Resident Evil 5 - I have to admit I wasn't too impressed with the implementation of full on CO-OP, not that it's going to bother me, but they act like it hasn't been done before, umm RE0 anyone? The game still looks great, but I'm ready for a little more info, including some new environments.
and now a tie for 3.
3. Street Fighter IV & Mortal Kombat VS. DC Universe - The last time I bought a full fledged fighting game was probably a Tekken back on PS1, and these two games are almost instant purchases. I'm very excited for two new games in two of the biggest fighting franchise's around.
and finally
5. Fallout 3 - This game just looks pretty insane, I haven't been following it closely, but after watching some demo's of it I'm succumbing to the madness this game presents. Can not wait for this holiday season.
Negatives:
1. Mirror's Edge - what can I say? this game just doesn't impress me with it's gameplay, and first person view which reminds me a lot of a turd game called BREAKDOWN from last generation. Maybe I just don't get it, but it just doesn't appeal to me, and I also question the replay value, what happens after you've jumped your way across the first level? will there be multiple paths of red, or just the one red path the entire game for that level?
Also there seemed to be a lack of interesting racing games, lot's of off-road racing, but nothing that appealed to me on my system concerning asphalt/circuit racing type stuff, maybe I missed it, but then again I still need to pick up grid.
also the TOO HUMAN demo kind of lost me, and I've been pulling for the fella's over at silicon knights, loved eternal darkness, but I think that's about it.

I'm having a hard time digging Fallout 3, and the reason is Fallout 1 and 2, which are insanely awesome.. and 3 seems to be nothing like them, but more of, Oblivion set in it's universe.

The only games I'm looking forward to at the moment are Gears Of War 2 and Resident Evil 5.
I seem to be losing a lot of interest in video games lately...

I'm a Nintendo fanboy, but their E3 showing really didn't impress me much. There don't appear to be many Wii games that I'll be interested in through the end of the year (at least ones made by Nintendo), but I'm already predicting they have a big 2009.
That said, Resident Evil 5 will pretty much make me buy a PS3. I absolutely LOVED Resident Evil 4 on the Gamecube (and Wii), so I'm hoping the PS3 has gone down in price a little by the time Resident Evil gets here. I'm also interested in Street Fighter IV and am kind of surprised that a (graphically stripped down) version was never announced for the Wii, as the director of the game has been quoted as saying he wanted to get it out on as many platforms as possible.

It was bad wasn't it, they have so many awesome games coming and showed none of them, they are publishing Fatal Frame 4 which got a near perfect score in Famitsu, Conduit, Mad World, Cursed Mountain, and being the first console to offer Onechnabara in the US...
they need to embrace that.
They basically said they think E3 is shit now and did not want to waste a lot of effort on it.

I forgot that Fatal Frame 4 is being published by Nintendo, now there is a game that I am REALLY psyched for. I'm a little worried that an official North America release hasn't been announced yet, but I'm thinking its just a matter of time before it is.
And you're right Misfit, it seems Nintendo doesn't view E3 as the big event it once was (which I guess technically, its not). Nintendo of Japan's president even apologized to the fans for the company's lackluster showing. That's why I'm predicting that in 2009, a new Zelda and Mario title will be revealed (whether its at E3 or elsewhere), since they're definitely working on both.

I want to see a new punch out, we will see the new kid icarus before the year is out (it won't be out, but we will see it), it's being developed by Factor 5 who came running back after LAIR flopped so horribly on PS3.
It was really the third parties chance to shine, Nintendo's other stance that is holding it up is they will no longer show games until they are near completion, this way once hype is built, people can very quickly get the game without that hype dieing down and also because they really want to kill the third party complaint that they can not compete with nintendo's software.
