I'm trying to remember the title of a movie that used to show up on the Saturday afternoon chillers.
This is what I remember:
A woman returns to the old house of her childhood , a house in which a terrible murder was committed.
I think she hid under the bed as a child and was a witness.
Everybody seemed to blame one person but it turns out to be somebody else.
The murder weapon was a fireman's axe.
The secret of the whole matter turns out to be a lover's inscription carved into the outside wall of the house but has been hidden with ivy all these years!
I'm sure somebody can help me.

Thanks to everyone who has stopped to take a look at my question.
It's a tough one I know.
Check this out- this is the plot for "Terror in the Haunted House"-you know the subliminal movie
- My movie sounds an awful lot like this one but it's not. It was on TV awhile back and by the guide I thought it was that movie that's been haunting me.
"Philip Tierney and Sheila Wayne get married, but something stands in the way of their happiness. Sheila is having horrible nightmares and doesn't know why. Through therapy, she discovers what has been triggering the dreams: as a child, she witnessed members of Philip's family being brutally murdered with an axe. Philip decides to cure his wife by forcing her to confront her fear. So he takes Sheila to his creepy ancestral mansion, where the killings occurred. "
That's a pretty close summary of my movie except the murder was in her family
The thing that really stands out in my movie is the ivy covered wall hiding the important clue.
