I know there are at least a few people who collected them, so I thought I might as well make a thread out of this. As some of you know, back in 2003 Celestial Pictures who owns the rights to the Shaw Brothers studio library began releasing DVD’s through IVL or Intercontinental Video Limited. They had a potential pool of around 700 films from the modern Shaw Studio(late 1950's through 1985) as well as ones later produced by Shaw through other companies.
They released films from every genre you could think of, and finally late December of last year they put out their last batch, having released most of the potential films. Luckily they included a few strong releases in their last few months. One like the landmark opera film Diau Charn, Murder Plot another Chu Yuan Gu Long adaptation, Moods of Love a major Li Han Hsiang anthology and the Wu Xia film Supreme Swordsmen.
Now these DVD’s and VCD’s are beginning to go out of print. I have around 300 Shaw DVD’s, and out of those probably 100 are really impossible to find. For a lot of others the next six months or so are going to see more and more OOP discs.

Also, if anybody is interested. I tend to know most of the places that still have Shaw DVD’s and VCD’s in stock, so if you are looking for anything in particular I could probably tell you where to find it if its still out there. Its kind or random in terms of what’s going out of print. You can still find some DVD’s from 2003 readily available while some from mid 2007 are really scarce. Stock of Shaw DVD’s will probably hang around for some time before you cant find them anywhere. Having said that, the more popular the tittle the harder it usually is to find now.

I have a bunch on VCDs. I regret not getting Super Inframan back when it came with the funny little action figure
