Really Unique musician from New York, who I've been talking to on myspace made me a theme song for my horror film "IT CAME FROM THE WOODS"
Enjoy.

Your trailer looks really good, but I don't know about this. I think it's ridiculous. It sounds like what it is. A guy holding a cymbal on a guitar and hitting it with a stick. I'm not trying to piss you off in any way, and I have no idea what you're planning on using this "sound?" for, but... I'm sorry man. Good luck with your movie. I look forward to seeing it...

believe me when I say that it's impossible to piss me off, I don't wear my ego on my shoulder or whatever one says to that, and I take the internet lightly, LMAO!
This artist George is a really bizarre musician, I have 2 of his CD's, and asked him to make me a theme song, He told me he was interested but would think about it, so to suddenly recieve this video was awesome.
I believe this was just him messing with it LIVE, and am not sure what he plans on doing with an actual recorded version. Personally I like the stuff he did with the cymbal and guitar.
the sounds he creates reminds me of TCM, as well as like Tetsuo, or some shinya tsukamoto film. I'm probably going to use this song as an end credits theme, POSSIBLE main credits but I have another band lined up for that.
I was also going to squeeze the theme into the film in odd ways, like playing in car radio's, BGM stuff like that.
It's so hard to find people interested, and willing to collaborate on shit like this, that for him to just do that song because he wanted to, gains mucho respecto from me, regardless of the quality.

I wasn't initially impressed either, but then then I gave it another go and just closed my eyes and tried to imagine the music paired with the trailer. I think it could really work well.

I went to youtube and checked out some of this guys other material this evening. I'm all for experimenting with music, but this guy's "band?" is just WAY too strange for my liking. There was a video of him scaping a microphone along his guitar strings while his band played totally random off beat support. I just don't get it. I'm not judging anyone's opinion on the matter, and there are a thousand different kinds of music for a reason, but this just isn't what I would consider to be music. I could see the weird cymbal/guitar/drumstick "thing" as a sound effect during a strange occurance in a scene, but I don't think it's a song. It's just really strange. I'm sorry if I'm coming across like a know it all, but I just don't really know what to think about this sound. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I would consider this as more of a sound effect than music. If you look at it as a sound effect then I could definitely see it being useful.
I don't want you to think that I'm an asshole, and I really do think your trailer looks interesting. Keep us informed as new information becomes available man...

Lately George Korein has been drifting into the way off-beat, obscure, non-musical scene. I would recommend checking out some audio tracks off of his CD "Memoirs of a trilobite", or search for his music video writhe, sally writhe. He's very effective in recording, I think these are still his first big few outer branchings, He was also one half of the Noise band Infidel/Castro.
Thanks for liking the trailer man, and trust me you don't sound like an asshole lol, lately you're one of the few posters active, and a lot of people don't know this because I've had account problems, but I've been on this board fairly active since like 2001, but have just recently started posting alot again.
you can also check out my myspace www.myspace.com/snuffreality I believe it is, if you do the whole MYSPACE, MYSPACE = VIDEODROME, but I'm JAMES WOODS. so peace out brotha! I know the trailer looks clean and all cause of the song, but everything I learned about filmmaking, I learned from the toxic avenger, troma for life son, that's my aspiration, to make movies, on my own terms, on a scale smaller than that if I need be, it's putting the films on screen that matters to me, I just want to make movies. sorry, got excited there.
