is due to be released tomorrow along with the DVD premier of DIARY OF THE DEAD. I'm not really sure if there's anything new to offer at this point. Anyone have specifics on this NofLD re-release?

Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday."

From what I read elsewhere the transfer is no better than the Millennium edition released by Elite. However, there are numerous bonus items, some available for the first time.
-Original screenplay DVD-Rom -Still gallery -Original theatrical trailer -Speak of the Dead: interview with George A. Romero -Last interview with Dwane Jones: Ben speaks. -Documentary: One for the fire. -Audio commentary: George Romero, Karl Hartman, Marilyn Eastman, John Russo. -Audio commentary: Judith O'Dea, Russell Streiner, Vince Zurinsky, Bill Hinzman, Kyra Schon, Keith Wayne. -English 2.0 mono original soundtrack

The audio commentaries would be nice to have. Maybe eventually I will rent this version for the extras. For now, I guess I'll stick with my copy of the Millennium Edition. It's very confusing trying to figure out and keep up with all the different releases.

I love Night Of The Living Dead, but they really should stop re-releasing it. I'm pretty sure that every human being on earth that wants to own a copy already has one. Hell, I bought a copy in a bin at Wal-Mart about 5 years ago for a dollar. It's hard to imagine paying 15 or 20 dollars for a movie that's been re-packaged and re-released like 30 times now...

I shudder to think of the quality of that $1 release though. All of the public domain releases looked like absolute garbage, though I will admit that sometimes a really bad picture can add to the creepiness factor. My THX Elite release from several years back is absolutely beautiful.

About three years ago on Halloween my small, local theater showed an old reel copy on their projector. That kicked ass.

The quality isn't really that bad. It's not the worst version of Night Of The Living Dead in my collection...

I had what I considered a decent VHS copy. The jacket was black with red lettering and a close-up photo of bloody little Karen Cooper.

My cousin has a VHS copy of NOTLD that says starring Dwight Jones on the cover. How can you misprint the name of the film's star right on the front cover?
There have been so many cheap ass NOTLD releases over the years...

Hilarious. Poor Duane, that role never took him very far, at least in film.

I have a similar story. I have one of the old HBO Cannon tapes of Dawn of the Dead that has a funny misprint on the cover. In Roger Ebert's review of Dawn of the Dead, he called it a "Savagely satiric vision of America." However, on the cover of this particular release, it says he called it a "Savagely SATANIC vision of America." Not a huge oversight per say, but a funny one none the less.
